On the higher ground overlooking Beda Creek on Kootaberra Station in the Northern Pastoral District of South Australia.

Beyond the immediate scene is Dutton Bluff where Aborigines speared Dutton. The other white fellas went to Hawker and returned with a posse which wiped out the local aboriginal population.
Kootaberra Station is only about an hour's drive from Port Augusta on the Stuart Highway. At least the entrance that leads to the homestead is. The homestead is a kilometre or two in from the highway on a good dirt track.
The image is from an area of Kootaberra Station about 30 km from the homestead.
Taken around midday under an autum sun, the image reflects the harsh environment of the Australian outback.
